Chennai's Heritage, Madurai's Living Temple City & the Eighth Jyotirlinga at Rameshwaram

A 6-day journey deep into Tamil Nadu's temple heartland — Chennai's blend of temples and colonial landmarks, Madurai, the 'oldest city and cultural capital of Tamil Nadu', and Rameshwaram, home to the Ramanathaswamy Temple, the eighth Jyotirlinga and a key site in the Ramayana.

The tour opens with a day in Chennai, before continuing south to Madurai for two nights — the magnificent Meenakshi Amman Temple, with its towering, intricately sculpted gopurams, alongside Alagar Koil, Thirumalai Nayakar Mahal, and Koodal Azhagar Temple.

From Madurai, the route continues to Rameshwaram, where the Ramanathaswamy Temple's extraordinarily long pillared corridors — among the longest of any temple in India — anchor two full days of pilgrimage, alongside Gandhamadhana Parvatham and the dramatically wind-swept ghost town of Dhanushkodi at the very tip of the Tamil Nadu coast.

Six days that combine Tamil Nadu's most significant living temple architecture with one of Hinduism's most venerated coastal pilgrimage sites — a journey deeply rooted in the Ramayana's geography and devotional tradition.
