Orchha's palaces, riverside cenotaphs, and temples remain remarkably preserved and refreshingly untouched by mass tourism — a genuine window into 16th-century Rajput architecture without the crowds of better-known heritage sites.
Khajuraho's Western and Eastern Groups of Temples, built by the Chandela dynasty between 950 and 1050 CE, represent one of the finest surviving examples of medieval Indian temple architecture, with two full days allowing an unhurried exploration of both temple groups and the town's excellent Archaeological Museum.

Welcome to Bundelkhand! On arrival at Jhansi railway station, meet our representative and drive to Orchha (approximately 20 km, ~30 minutes). On arrival, check in to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit Jahangir Mahal, the grand palace built by Raja Bir Singh Deo to host Emperor Jahangir on a single planned visit, and the riverside chhatris (cenotaphs) of the Bundela rulers — among the most photographed monuments in Bundelkhand, especially at sunset.
After breakfast, visit Raja Ram Temple, the only temple in India where Lord Rama is worshipped as a reigning king rather than a deity, according to local legend. Explore Orchha's old town lanes and Laxmi Narayan Temple, known for its fort-like architecture and painted ceilings. After lunch, check out and drive to Khajuraho (approximately 180 km, ~4 hours). On arrival, check in to your hotel.
A full day exploring Khajuraho's UNESCO World Heritage temple complex. The Western Group of Temples, the largest and best-preserved, includes the Kandariya Mahadev Temple, considered the finest example of Chandela architecture. The Eastern Group includes both Hindu and Jain temples, reflecting the town's historic religious diversity. Visit the Archaeological Museum for its collection of Chandela-era sculpture. In the evening, witness the Sound and Light Show, narrating Khajuraho's history against its illuminated temple spires.
A relaxed final morning — perhaps a last visit to the Western Group of Temples for morning light photography, when the complex is at its quietest. Check out and transfer to Khajuraho Airport for your onward flight. Tour concludes.
