Namaste! Welcome to Gujarat. On arrival at Ahmedabad Airport, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit Sabarmati Ashram, Mahatma Gandhi's former residence and the nerve centre of India's freedom movement, followed by a relaxed walk along the Sabarmati Riverfront. In the evening, visit Akshardham Temple, an intricately carved stone complex built without any structural steel.
After breakfast, check out and drive to Jamnagar (approximately 310 km, ~5.5-6 hours), the 'Jewel of Kathiawar' and former capital of the princely state of Nawanagar. On arrival, check in to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit Lakhota Fort, a palace set on an island in the middle of Ranmal Lake, built in the mid-19th century, and Bala Hanuman Temple, where the chant 'Shri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram' has continued uninterrupted since 1964 — a tradition recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records.
After breakfast, check out and drive to Dwarka (approximately 132 km, ~2.5-3 hours) — the legendary capital of Lord Krishna and one of the four Char Dham of Hinduism. On arrival, check in to your hotel. In the evening, visit the Dwarkadhish Temple, its gold-topped sanctum standing beside the Gomti River, and attend the temple's evening Aarti ceremony.
Morning visit to Nageshwar Temple, home to one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, and a holy dip at the Gomti Ghat. After breakfast, check out and drive to Somnath (approximately 233 km via NH51, ~4.5 hours). On arrival, check in to your hotel. Visit the Somnath Temple — the first of the twelve Jyotirlingas, rebuilt several times through history — and in the evening, attend the temple's Aarti ceremony and light and sound show, narrating an extraordinary story of destruction and resilience across the centuries.
After breakfast, check out and drive to Gir National Park (approximately 65 km depending on the exact route, ~1-1.5 hours) — the last wild refuge of the Asiatic lion anywhere on earth. On arrival, check in to your wildlife lodge. In the afternoon, head out on a jeep safari into the park's dry deciduous forest, with naturalist guides tracking recent lion movements, alongside leopards, deer, and an exceptional variety of birdlife.
Optional early-morning jeep safari for a final chance at a lion sighting. After breakfast, check out and drive to Rajkot (approximately 165 km, ~3.5-4 hours) for your departure flight. Tour concludes.
