Rajasthan's Royal Past, Its Painted Towns, Its Desert — and the Taj Mahal to Close

Sixteen days for travellers who want the single most complete Rajasthan experience we offer — every major region of the state, from the painted havelis of Shekhawati to the dunes of the Thar Desert, the lakes of Udaipur, and a final, fitting visit to the Taj Mahal in Agra.

A note on the published itinerary: the original tour title referenced '14 Days', but the detailed night-by-night breakdown and stated duration both total 15 nights / 16 days once every listed destination is properly accounted for. We have built this page around the verified, complete 10-stop itinerary rather than the inconsistent shorter figure, so that what you see here matches exactly what the day-by-day plan delivers.

The journey opens with two days in Delhi, then follows the now-familiar desert spine — Mandawa, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, a night at the Sam Sand Dunes, and Jodhpur — before two unhurried days in Udaipur. From there, the tour takes a genuinely distinctive turn: a night in Deogarh, a small, little-visited heritage town built around a 17th-century fort-turned-hotel, known for its own school of miniature painting and a refreshingly uncrowded atmosphere.

The circuit then returns to Jaipur for two days of royal heritage, before a final leg to Agra — the Taj Mahal at sunrise providing one of the most memorable closing notes of any Rajasthan itinerary — and the drive back to Delhi for departure.

What makes this journey special

1.Explore Delhi's iconic landmarks — Red Fort, Qutub Minar, and Humayun's Tomb.
2.Wander Mandawa's painted havelis, part of the Shekhawati region's open-air fresco gallery.
3.Discover Bikaner's Junagarh Fort and the Karni Mata 'Rat Temple' at nearby Deshnoke.
4.Explore Jaisalmer Fort, one of the world's last 'living forts', with a sunset camel safari at the Sam Dunes.
5.Explore Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur, and cruise Lake Pichola at sunset in Udaipur.
6.Discover Deogarh — a little-visited heritage town with its own distinctive school of miniature painting.
7.Experience Jaipur's royal forts, palaces, and a traditional evening at Chokhi Dhani village.
8.Conclude with the Taj Mahal at sunrise in Agra — the world's most celebrated monument to love.

Your questions, answered

We found a genuine inconsistency in the original listing: the page title said '14 Days', but the stated duration field and the detailed night-by-night breakdown both independently total 15 nights / 16 days once Delhi (2N), Mandawa, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Sam Dunes, Jodhpur, Udaipur (2N), Deogarh, Jaipur (2N), and Agra are all properly counted. Rather than publish a misleading shorter figure, we've built this page around the complete, verified 16-day itinerary that actually delivers everything promised in the route description.

Deogarh is one of Rajasthan's genuine hidden gems — a small fort town that developed its own distinctive school of miniature painting in the 18th-19th centuries, quite different in style from the better-known Jaipur or Udaipur traditions. It sees a small fraction of the visitors that the major cities do, offering a peaceful, uncrowded contrast roughly two-thirds of the way through what is otherwise a fairly intensive touring schedule.

This is intentionally our most complete Rajasthan itinerary. If 16 days isn't feasible, our Essence of Rajasthan tour (13 days) covers most of the same ground without Deogarh or Agra, and our Rajasthan Royal Circuit (9 days) offers a more compact introduction. Submit an enquiry and we can also tailor a custom-length version specifically around the destinations that matter most to you.

October to March is ideal — comfortable temperatures (15–28°C), clear skies, and the best conditions for sightseeing, fort treks, and wildlife safaris. April–June brings intense heat (up to 45°C); July–September is monsoon, with some relief from the heat but reduced safari access in the tiger reserves.

Absolutely. Every Discover India tour is fully private and built around your preferences. We can adjust the duration, swap destinations, change hotel categories, or add extensions. Submit an enquiry and our specialists will redesign the itinerary for you at no obligation.

We include carefully selected 4-star and 5-star hotels throughout — heritage havelis, palace hotels, and well-appointed properties near the wildlife reserves, all personally vetted by our team. Upgrades to palace hotels or luxury tented camps are available on request.

Most nationalities can apply for an Indian e-Visa online at indianvisaonline.gov.in. Processing typically takes 3–5 business days and costs $25–$80 USD depending on your nationality. Apply at least 2 weeks before travel.

Cancellations 60+ days before departure receive a full refund minus a small admin fee. 30–59 days: 75% refund. 15–29 days: 50% refund. Under 15 days: no refund. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance.
