Questions about this tour

October through March is the ideal window — days are comfortably warm (15–25°C) and skies are clear. December and January can get chilly at night so pack a light jacket. We strongly recommend avoiding April–September: summer temperatures regularly exceed 42°C, making outdoor sightseeing very uncomfortable. If you must travel in shoulder season, March can still work well, though it gets warmer toward the end of the month.

Absolutely — every Discover India journey is built around you. We can adjust the duration (shorter or longer), swap hotels for different categories or styles, add destinations like Ranthambore, Jodhpur, or Varanasi, or modify the pace if you prefer more leisure time. Simply submit an enquiry with your preferences and our specialists will redesign the itinerary accordingly. There is no obligation and the consultation is completely free.

Most nationalities can apply for an Indian e-Visa online at indianvisaonline.gov.in — the process typically takes 3–5 business days and costs between $25–$80 USD depending on your country. We recommend applying at least 2 weeks before travel. Citizens of a few countries require a visa-on-arrival or embassy visa instead. Our team will advise you on the correct process for your nationality when you book.

The base package includes 5-star heritage hotels and boutique properties throughout — think restored havelis, Rajput manor houses, and city palaces converted into luxury stays. All rooms are carefully selected for character and comfort. If you'd like to upgrade to iconic palace hotels (such as the Rambagh Palace in Jaipur or the Oberoi Amarvilas in Agra, which offers a Taj Mahal view from every room), we can arrange this. Upgrades are priced separately based on availability and season.

Yes to both. Solo travellers are very welcome — we can match you with a small private group or arrange a fully private tour. For families, this itinerary works wonderfully for children aged 6 and above. The Taj Mahal, camel rides, elephant sanctuary, and fort explorations are all child-friendly highlights. We can adjust the pace, add family-friendly activities, and ensure child menus are available throughout. A single supplement applies for solo travellers — please ask for details.

We understand that plans can change. Cancellations made 60+ days before departure receive a full refund minus a small administrative fee. Between 30–59 days: 75% refund. Between 15–29 days: 50% refund. Less than 15 days: no refund. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances. We can recommend trusted providers if needed. In cases of natural disasters, political unrest, or other force majeure events, we work with you to reschedule at no penalty.

International flights are not included in the base price, as most travellers prefer to book their own flights or use air miles. However, we can arrange flights on your behalf — both international and domestic — through our preferred airline partners, often at competitive rates. Internal transfers between Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur are all by private air-conditioned vehicle and are fully included. If you'd prefer to travel by train (a wonderful experience in itself), we can also arrange first-class rail journeys.

India uses the Indian Rupee (₹). ATMs are widely available in Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, and most hotels and larger shops accept international credit cards. We suggest budgeting roughly ₹3,000–5,000 per day for personal expenses — this covers tips, shopping, optional snacks, and entrance to any additional sites not included in your itinerary. Tips for guides and drivers are customary and appreciated; we'll provide guidance on appropriate amounts when you travel.
