Detailed Itinerary
Arrive at Aurangabad Airport, meet our representative - transfer to hotel. Afternoon Aurangabad Sightseeing tour. Visit The Pani Chakki - 17th century water mill surrounded by a picturesque garden-landscape dotted with fish tanks. The Bibi-ka-Maqbara was built by Aurangzeb’s It is a replica of the Taj Mahal. Also visit the Aurangabad Caves No. 7 & 8, caves from the Mahayana school of Buddhism.
After breakfast proceed for a full day excursion to Ajanta Caves. Located at 100 Kms from Aurangabad in Sahyadri hills, Ajanta Caves are known 30 rock-hewn caves, dating from 2nd century B.C. displaying Buddhist monastic orders features several ‘Chaityas’ and Viharas. The exquisite paintings and sculptures of Buddha’s life belong to the Mahayana period. Spend day exploring various caves at Ajanta. Late afternoon return back to Aurangabad.
After breakfast at hotel, head out to Ellora Caves. Lies at 30 Kms from Aurangabad, Ellora Caves are the rock-hewn temples and monasteries and temples of the Buddhists, Jains and Hindus. There are 34 elaborate cave temples. Also visit Daulatabad Fort. Late afternoon return back to Aurangabad.
After breakfast, checkout from hotel. Transfer to the airport for your flight for onward journey.
Note: Ajanta Caves are closed on Monday; Ellora Caves are closed on Tuesday.
